Mock Board Room

The format of the Mock Board Room is designed to help teach and reward these skills in aspiring entrepreneurs. Judges and staff will ask questions to the participants designed to reflect the real-world challenges and decision-making requirements of entrepreneurs.
Pautas e información
A maximum of ten minutes will be allowed in front of the judges for each business presentation/questions.
  • Timing begins when the presenter begins speaking.
  • There is no minimum or maximum number of entrepreneurs that can present.
  • Immediately following the presentation, judges will ask questions.
  • Others in attendance are not permitted to ask questions or to comment.
  • Entrepreneurs must give the presentation live and in person.
  • Entrepreneurs are permitted to utilize handouts and other visual aids. But they must be carried to and from the room
  • Students will ONLY get 10 minutes with the judges per Mock Board Room, there will be 2 judges in each room. 
  • FOOD SAMPLES ARE NOT ALLOWED in the Mock Board Room. Samples are limited to the table presentations only.

Rubric

Marketing: Market research done to identify target market, plan to reach market, potential growth, competition, promotion/advertising, pricing strategy, etc.
Presentation: Poise, confidence, comprehension, quality and relevance of materials, ability to answer judge questions, proper attire, captures attention, within time limits, etc.
Realistic: Student provided ample justification for answers given using quality data, analysis, and critical thinking. The answers to questions were feasible, realistic and aligned with company’s means.
Specificity: Responses were specific, detailed, and action-oriented.
Originality: Answers and product were creative and original.
Professional: Student demonstrated themselves in a professional manner.
Knowledge: Student was knowledgeable about their business and answered questions as such.
