Description
2026 will mark the 7th Annual Kansas City Kansas, Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for Wyandotte County!
Wyandotte County, 9th - 12th grade students can submit their business and compete in four entrepreneurial categories with the chance of winning cash prizes anywhere between $250 to $2,500.
The four categories businesses can compete in are:
- Formal Presentation
- Executive Summary
- Tradeshow
- Elevator Pitch
Qualifications:
- Students must attend a Wyandotte County High School in order to compete.
- Students must have a mentor/teacher to represent them.
- Businesses cannot be a school based business or family-owned business.
- Students can compete individually or with a team.

Schedule and key dates
The event will be happening at Kansas City Kansas Community College, 7250 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66112, in the Jewell Building.
- Thursday, March 5th from 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
- Thursday will be the Tradeshow Exhibit, Elevator Pitch Competition, and awards for those two events.
- Friday, March 6th from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm
- Friday will be the Executive Summary and Formal Presentation Competition along with awards for those two events and Final Awards for the overall event.
This year, we are providing workshops to help entrepreneurs prepare for the competition.
Each workshop will be focused on one event, the order is as follows: Elevator Pitch, Tradeshow, Executive Summary, and Formal Presentation
- Workshops will be held each Tuesday in February from 4:00 pm - 5:30 PM, either in-person or online. (Link can be found below for address & Link)
- Attendance is optional and does not affect scoring for the competition.
- All sessions will be recorded so entrepreneurs & mentors can review as they prepare.
