Description
Wichita County Economic Development is excited to host the Pitch Your Porch (PYP) Grant Program! It is designed to assist business owners in any frequently traveled business area in Wichita County, Kansas to renovate the "front porch" of their business to create a visual impact and to complement community development efforts.
ELIGIBLE IMPROVEMENT EXAMPLES:
ELIGIBLE IMPROVEMENT EXAMPLES:
· Cleaning, preparation, and painting of exterior walls and trim
· Cleaning and/or re-pointing of brick and other masonry
· Installation of siding materials
· Outdoor dining fencing
· Trash can fencing
· Signage
· Replacement of deteriorated windows, doors, and/or framing visible from the street
· Removal and/or installation of awnings, canopies, or shutters
· Accent lighting
· Murals & external beautification
Schedule and key dates
A total of up to $25,500 will be awarded to 3 businesses. Grants will be awarded up to $8,500 per business. Owners/Tenants can spend more than the grant amount on a project, but WCED will only award up to $8,500. Applicant will be responsible for a 20% cash match of the applied for amount.
Applications will be due September 6th.
Judging will take place September 10th. Judges are not local.
Grant award winners will be announced at the Leoti Fall Art Walk on September 14th.
Only new projects will be considered for this grant competition and must be ready to begin following the grant award announcement. Businesses will have up to 1 year from the competition date to use the awarded funds. Funds will not be deposited into business accounts. The businesses must send paid invoices to the WCED Director to be reimbursed.
